Water. Rushing water. She heard it before they did, but had at first brushed it off, thinking nothing of it. The thought hadn’t really occurred to her that somehow a gallons upon gallons of rushing water was winding its way through the cave systems towards them.

And then it hit them full force. Once again confused and wet, she tried to wade through the water, but her movements were slow from the water continuing to rise. Of course the water was rising. Of course they were trapped. of course, of course, of fuc—of course.

Thank the Gods they were alright. Nothing but bruises and aches, it seemed. Though Odette did flinch as the male grabbed and practically dragged them inside, she was thankful. They had made it and they were all alive.

Hopefully they would continue to be so.

Odette leaned her aching back against the hard cave wall as she shut her eyes and shook her head. “I have nothing.” She mumbled as she felt herself already tired. Goosebumps rose across her arms as the chill of the rain finally set in and she wrapped her arms around her drenched self.

Odette practically sighed in relief as her instincts were correct. She came to a halt behind Kocoum, trying to catch her breath, when something suddenly pulled the ground out from beneath her feet. She only vaguely heard the sound of tearing as fingers tugged at the collar of her dress and pulled her down.

A tumble and fall later, she was in a disheveled heap on the ground with her body aching. She let out a groan as she sat up to assess the damage. Only a small part of her top has been torn, leaving only a fracture of a strap and lace showing. Nothing to fret over at the moment. But her clothes were torn, she was wet, and covered in mud. What a perfect way for the day to go.

“Ow…”

With a quick glance up to where they had previously stood, she only looked away to reply. “I’m fine. What about you guys?” Odette turned her head to look at Cindy, then to Kocoum.

Lost in this strange place of forests and green landscapes, Odette jumped and clung to both partners at any strange noise. The strange rustling in the bushes was no exception as she grasped Cindy’s arm tightly for reassurance. But a call came that made her blood run cold.

The shifter wasn’t even able to utter a scream as she caught flashes of the beasts among the foliage. She was, however, able to respond to Kocoum’s shouts as she turned and ran, following him and Cindy with herself still holding onto the other blonde’s hand tightly. Odette stared straight ahead, her only focus on getting away, before trying to process Cindy’s question.

“I can try!” Odette’s sense of smell wasn’t as good as a normal shifter’s of her species, but she could at least try. She inhaled through her nose and tried to make sense of their surroundings. There was… Nothing! She couldn’t make out nothing. There was too many strange scents—Wait.

Odette suddenly came to a halt and made a direct turn to the right. “This way!”

Her breaths were short as her legs carried her to their destination. Hopefully a safe enough place to get away. If not, then to at least make a good enough stand. However, the dress she was wearing was long and wasn’t as fit for running and she finally stumbled, letting go of Cindy’s hand.

She almost hit the ground, which could have ended badly for the girl, if quick reflexes hadn’t been on her side. As her hands hit the ground, survival instincts kicked in. She shifted her position into a crouch as she made small work of her dress in but a second, using enough force to make a large tear in her dress up to her thighs. Then up she was again and continued to run.

GROUP FIVE; You hear rustling in the bushes, followed by a familiar call.
Better Together

She didn’t know where she was. Confused, frightened, in a daze. She had barely comprehended what exactly had happened the past few days. Her mind had taken the courtesy of blacking it out. When she did try to recall it, all she got was her own screams and sobs echoing in her ears and a dull throbbing pain in her hands.

Odette quickly let the forgotten memories go again.

“Odette!” She turned at the familiar voice calling her name and immediately found Cindy holding her tightly. She breathed out a sigh of relief and returned the hug, happy to see someone so familiar in such a confusing situation. She stared down at the other blonde as she pulled away, and a frown tugged at her lips.

“Pietro…?” She echoed the name and turned her head, as if expecting to see him. But he wasn’t there. Perhaps she had seen him in those small, blacked out time periods, or perhaps she hadn’t. But right now, she was sure he wasn’t here with her, so she shook her head. “No, he’s not. Cindy, do you know where we are?”

Not far away, the leaves rustled and she flinched, turning towards the sound, but soon relaxed when she saw who it was.

“Kocoum!” She called, a smile on her lips and again happy to see a friendly face.
